There are 3 different label interfaces that we offer: the Retail (UPC) Label Interface, the Point of Service Label Interface, and the Label Data Export Interface for The Merchandiser™ by M&M Labels.
Retail (UPC) Labels
These types of labels are used in retail operations for Grab-n-Go products like sandwiches, salads, baked goods, etc. The label fields may include: price, portion size, upc\barcode, expiration date (or manufactured date), nutrition information, logos. For these labels, generally the FoodPro client provides us with a sample layout, dimensional measurements, font type\style information, and the printing rules (vertical, horizontal, 2×6 per page, etc). We then develop the label interface output. Customizations (like new\different data fields) to the basic interface can be added for an additional cost.
Point of Service Labels
The POS Labels are used in dining facilities at the “Point of Service” (e.g. Hot\Cold Food Wells, Bulk Food dispensers) and typically display suggested portion size and some form of nutrition as well as some optional information: web codes, product information, guiding stars ratings, to name a few. The labels are generated from a common web browser (please review the supplementary document for a visual reference) and do not require FoodPro access. Like the Retail Labels, the FoodPro client provides us with a sample layout, dimensional measurements, font type\style information, and the printing rules (vertical, horizontal, 2×6 per page, etc). We then develop the label interface output. Customizations (like new\different data fields) to the basic interface can be added for an additional cost.
Label Data Export Interface
The Label Data Export Interface was developed to meet the needs of customers that were already using M&M Labels for their label supplies. The concept is that instead of Aurora Information Systems doing the label “design” work, the design phase is done directly with M&M Labels. The FoodPro client then uses M&M Labels The Merchandiser kiosk system to generate labels on an as-needed basis. Label Data is exported from FoodPro to The Merchandiser system periodically to maintain accuracy.
