Nutritive Analysis provides the capability to analyze ingredients, recipes, and menus by nutritive components. Reports are generated by user defined nutrient groups, which are comprised of any combination of nutrients. These reports are printed in tabular or bar graph format showing comparisons to RDA standards. This information plus the Interactive Daily Menus for each campus dining location is available for customer access through an internet web browser. The FoodPro Nutritive Analysis Module accesses data from the USDA Standard Release database or ESHA Research's The Food Processor SQL®. In addition, custom nutrient data may be defined and maintained. The nutritive database is referenced by inventory items corresponding to the ways in which the items are prepared. In addition to nutritive data, FoodPro can also assist users in tracking potential allergens (as defined by the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act of 2004) for their inventory items and recipes. Allergens are displayed on Food Labels and can also be prominently displayed using icons or pictures on an operation's web-based Interactive Daily Menus. Food Labeling is another component to FoodPro's Nutritive Analysis Module. The labels conform to the USDA's latest set of Food Label regulations and can be used for any recipe produced or served in an operation. Another feature that can be used to educate customers about nutrition is FoodPro's Nutrition Tips. Nutrition Tips can be used to communicate information facts and fun trivia about nutrition. They can be displayed on an operation's Interactive Daily Menus website and set to rotate to a new Tip every time the web page is accessed. |
